I have reinterpreted 'grail' to mean any container in a public place that produces powerful resonances in my imagination. This mysterious resonance conjures up a sense of the magical or even mystical, partly because it is inexplicable: all of the grails I have so far located throughout the county are constructed of metal, stone or concrete, being for the most part old water-troughs, or, in this case, flower planters. And, in all cases, they are objects that ordinarily do not attract attention.
