ART BEGINS AT HOME

Item: Waste paper basket - an overflowing waste paper basket containing multi-coloured scraps and fine fragments of torn-up carbon paper, and several items urging the gilding of Leeds Town Hall dome.

Item: Refrigerator - a household refrigerator containing tins of condensed milk, a bag of carrots, and a pre-packed chicken.

Item: Bathroom cabinet - an old bathroom cabinet which opens to show used tubes of toothpaste, bottles of make-up remover and three jars of aspirins.

Taken from the single remaining sheet of typewritten documentation (which also doubled as catalogue) for installation pieces originally exhibited as ART BEGINS AT HOME at The Artist's Home in Chapel Lane, Leeds, June 1979. No photographs or other forms of recording of the installations were allowed during the period of the exhibition.
